Project Overview:
Belmont’s Zero Net Energy Middle & High School fosters connection, creativity, and growth through innovative architecture. A central interior street, crafted in wood and filled with daylight, links Middle and High Schools while showcasing student work, breaking barriers between school culture and student agency.

The project revitalizes Clay Pit Pond, transforming a post-industrial scar into intergenerational outdoor spaces with athletic fields, native planting, pathways, and outdoor dining. By replacing parking with nature, it strengthens community bonds.

At 445,100 GSF, it aims to be one of the largest NZEB high schools, achieved through community collaboration and eliminating on-site fossil fuel use.
