Project Overview:
The Pryde is an adaptive reuse project that transformed the historic William Barton Rogers School in Boston’s Hyde Park neighborhood into 74 affordable housing units and an LGBTQ+ community center. Addressing a critical gap in housing, The Pryde provides a safe and dignified home for a marginalized community. Designed to LEED Gold and Fitwell standards, it embodies sustainability through energy-efficient systems and full electrification. Rooted in community engagement, including letters of support from 400+ members, the design preserves the school’s architectural character while creating vibrant spaces that reduce isolation and strengthen connections, making The Pryde a model of inclusive design.
