Project Overview:
The project’s main driver was the need for connection. Different perspectives on the ideal solutions for the problems in the juvenile justice system are expected. However, the current system in Omaha has not performed well, with excessive detention periods for children and a lack of proper placement and support. The geographical separation of judges, attorneys, probation officers, and support groups has hampered communication and collaboration in a system where effective communication is crucial. The primary objective for the project was to establish a unified space for all these groups, fostering a more rehabilitative environment for young offenders and their families.
