Project Overview:
Toba Centre for Children & Youth is a trauma-informed, child/youth-family-centered, culturally appropriate, and inclusive advocacy center emerging from the deep-renovation of a donated municipal building in Assiniboine Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It is the province's first and only child advocacy center while providing a safe, child-friendly setting for children impacted by abuse to meet with service providers, to be interviewed by highly trained forensic interviewers and supported by case navigators ensuring the well-being and recovery of vulnerable children.
Here, an integrated-police-unit, social work, and medical team, provide a coordinated response to reduce potential trauma to children and improve overall outcomes.
