Project Overview:
As healthcare grows more interdisciplinary, designing space for collaborative care is vital. The Pediatric Stad Center—one of the most comprehensive of its kind in the nation—unites the Pediatric Chronic Illness Center, IP3 (Pediatric Pain, Palliative, and Integrative Medicine), and the Pediatric Therapy Center into a seamless, integrative healthcare clinic. Designed as a "healing device," it prioritizes patient care, functionality, and inclusiveness within a neuroarchitectural framework inspired by San Francisco’s natural beauty. It integrates rich analog and digital experiences to engage the senses—colors, daylighting, outdoor views, and interactive and multi-sensory features.
